I am pleased to inform you that I signed a contract to buy a new house.
We are moving to a private home from an apartment.
I am talking about a house with big dining room, big kitchen, big family
and guest bedroom on ground floor.
Three bedrooms and bath room + parents bedroom with an bathroom attached
(with jakozee) on the floor above.
Three bedrooms and kitchen and dinning room and bathroom in the
basement. The basement is only part underground, so there are windows
near the ceiling.
All in all about 220 square meters, on 300 square meters plot.
The house was bought with the help of city hall.
A month ago my wife saw the "for sale" on the house. It took us about
three weeks to inspect the house and check if we can buy it.
Two weeks ago we sat down with the seller on Wednesday, talked about the
final price and agreed to buy. The seller told us that he gave an option
to another guy and the other guy needs to reply next day. We said OK, we
will wait. Then the seller called us and said he extended the option to
the other guy for a few days more. We were pissed off at first but then
my wife said: We will wait and see if GOD intended us to have this
house. The next Monday the seller told us that the guy did not gave a
final answer and his option has expired. So, on Tuesday, I brought
someone to inspect the house and went to city hall to check if there are
any violations that will cause trouble later. It seems that city hall
lost the file on this house, but their computer records indicate that
there are no problems. The guy that inspected the house did not found
any major problems so we gave the final OK on Tuesday night. On
Wednesday morning I got a call from city hall that they found the file.
When I got there I met another guy who was interested in the same house.
I checked the file - no problems there, and told the other guy that he
should start looking someplace else, as I bought the house. Later I
found that he was the guy with the option and his lawyer told him that
he MUST inspect the file at city hall before he buys the house. So,
because city hall misplaced the file he did not used the option and we
bought it. We signed the contract lat Thursday.
We plan to do some improvements on July and move in on August.
