David, It occurs to me that you might receive better answers if you could give your definition of software vs. hardware RAID. Is there a SAN involved? When you say software RAID, do you mean you'll use Oracle to do the RAID function, or Solaris? Also, this may be a question for the newsgroup comp.unix.solaris. Dennis Williams
