Hi Yong, My server is 32 bit Windows running 11.1.0.7 non RAC. The 11.1 vs 11.2 may be significant and I don't have a 11.2 I can try on. I can get a hanganalyze to work (provided I do a Net 8 connection) from either remote 10.2 sqlplus on XP client or using 11.1 sqlplus client on the host itself. Hope this helps, Bruce -----Original Message----- From: Yong Huang [mailto:yong321@xxxxxxxxx] Sent: Thursday, 11 November 2010 6:47 AM To: Reardon, Bruce (RTABBAY) Cc: oracle-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: RE: Hanganalyze not working on 11.1.0.7 on Windows > Whilst trying sqlplus -prelim from 10gR2 vs an 11G database, I found > that you can do it with 11g sqlplus prelim connection, if the listener > is running. Bruce, Yesterday I tried 10g sqlplus -prelim to connect to an 11g database on the same box not using SQL*Net. I couldn't get a real hanganalyze trace. Today I just tried your approach, using 10g sqlplus to 11g through SQL*Net. The trace file still does not show a successful hanganalyze. Mine environment is Client: Windows XP, 10.2.0.1 sqlplus -prelimit sys/...@... as sysdba Server: Linux x86_64, 11.2.0.1, 2-node RAC (but should be irrelevant) I wonder what you did differently than me.
