Michael New - GC maven - has out ISBN 978-0-07-149275-1 this Jan2009
from O-McG-H.
Chapter 6 does the Agent Deploy system. Ch. 7 covers 5-count-em-5
alternatives to the AD. Sounds like the way to Debian is in there
somewhere.
752 pages and you're 489 pages in to reach actually using GC for
something. ;^)

Subject: GridControlAgent on Debian
is it possible to install an EM Grid Control Agent
(10.2.0.4) on Debian 4?
runInstaller complains about an uncertified operating
system and exits, but maybe there is a workaround?
We'd like to try some monitoring of a MySQL server with
Oracle tools (i.e. GridControlAgent + MySQL plugin).
Using a remotely installed agent did work, but killed
performance on the agent host, so the idea was abandoned.
