I agree with Jack. Also with 10g plus the Oracle provided statistics gathering
script is going to make the decision when to update the schema statistics
unless you disable or otherwise modify it.

I do not expect them to supply the scripts, however I do expect them to be
able to supply the information needed for proper statistics.
It often is a futile expectation though.
