GC 11gR1 Installer+Windows+Proxy+Patches=FAIL?

So, I'm running the Grid Control 11gR1 installer on Windows 2008 32-bit (not 
certified on 64-bit) and I've configured the Proxy settings and it says 
successful.  I try to download the patches as part of the install and it looks 
like it downloads the patches (the download status goes to 100%) but then the 
installer just sits there spinning.
Has anyone gotten the auto download/install updates to work on GC 11gR1 
Installer on Windows when using a proxy server?

If so, I'd be interested in hearing how you accomplished this....
