Filewatcher frustration

I am testing out the new filewatcher functionality in 11gR2. However, I cannot seem to get it to work and the dba_scheduler* views are reporting that it is succeeding, but nothing is being written to the table.

The steps I am following are at http://www.oracle-base.com/articles/11g/SchedulerEnhancements_11gR2.php#file_watcher

I've installed the scheduler agent and it is running. The only entries in $ORACLE_HOME/data/agent.log (thanks for the obvious location and file name Oracle!) are related to start/stop

2009.11.20 09:42:00 MST Setting PORT to : 1500
2009.11.20 09:42:00 MST Setting LOGGING_LEVEL to : OVERVIEW,WARNINGS (3)
2009.11.20 09:42:00 MST Setting MAX_RUNNING_JOBS to : 5
2009.11.20 09:42:00 MST Setting HOST_NAME to : tpr52
2009.11.20 09:42:00 MST DENY_USERS contains 3 users : root,administrator,guest
2009.11.20 09:42:00 MST Reading file watcher source list from disk
2009.11.20 09:42:00 MST Scheduler agent started with pid 8246
2009.11.20 09:42:00 MST Listening for new connections

Any guidance on the setup/test or where to look for errors is greatly appreciated
