very possible bug 6041543.  relate to /etc/resolv.conf.  Change "domain" to 
"search" and try again.

we have this stupid issue here on our Sun/QA machine (Sunos 5.10) -> dbca takes 
a looong tume to startup.

Sometimes up to 10 minutes! And the machine is almost idle at that time.

any hint what could that be??
