Yes we are... and no problems.
One weapon we are finding useful is the 10G OEM.. does server parameter
comparisons...ie..did the ghost admin change something..? Even when we catch
them.. it slides like water off the ducks back cause they are on the top of
the food chain. Always.. I remember there are some settings to make sure NFS
can accommodate issue (forget the details now.. something about async). I
would do some testing..can you copy files there, write there ...have the
Admin check the syslog and so on..

Ruth,
If Mladen were so accommodating, but I guess he isn't so what are you
going to do. Goodbye I guess is all.
Now lets get back to things Oracle of which I have a question:
Is anyone out here running Oracle 9.2.x on HP-Itanium/HP-UX 11.23 and
having or had problems with archive_log_dest_1 pointing to an NFS mounted
filesystem? Our prime db this morning decided to throw a fit when creating
an archive log. It would accept connections, but that was all it would do.
We changed the destination to a local mount point & things have retuirned to
normal, for the time being.

I agree with you completely. The delete key is right nest to the back slash
(on my keyboard). I have no problem using it.

While I'm not happy about anyone leaving there has been a very long
understanding on the list that the only dumb question is the one that is not
asked. Sure there are a number of folks on the list that could do a little
RTFM'ing to find their answers, but flaming them or otherwise being angry
about the matter is also not acceptable. One must remember that we all were
wet behind the ears at one time. Besides as has long been the policy of the
list, members need to make judicious use of the delete key. I'd hate to
count the number of messages that I delete every day without a reply.
Doesn't mean I'm leaving anytime soon though.

its really painful not only for me but for everyone(i believe) that experts
like Mladen are leaving this forum. we must refrain from posting silly
things which can be resolved with some efforts or with the help of some
documents ( oracle.com) or manual otherwise there will be a day when
everyone will be posting the problems only but no one will get any helpful
reply. this forum is going to miss Mladen a lot. Mladen I personally
appreciate your knowledge and in-depth understanding of the topic. I request
you personally not to leave this forum otherwise other experts like you will
also tend to do that. Plz.
