Thanks, but as i said before this is a 9i database I am looking to migrate
across different platforms i.e solaris to hpux. 10gr1 allows for xtts - 9i does
not, for 9i the platform has to remain the same:

Errr.....no.
tranportable tablespaces were introduced in 8i.
In 9i the feature was widely available and relatively
error free, you should be able to use it.
Or at least, so does sayeth Part No. A96520-01,page 12-3,
the Oracle Data Warehousing Guide, release 2(9.2).
Look it up, whenever "unbreakable Oracle" decides
to return the tahiti manuals to the www...
