if you want Oracle to do auto-magic for you then try rman archive log
delete policy.  archive logs must be in oracle flashback recovery area.

      rman> CONFIGURE ARCHIVELOG DELETION POLICY TO APPLIED ON STANDBY;

then search metalink for one hidden parameter, I think
*._log_deletion_policy='ALL'.

I have a physical dataguard database on a development system in
noarchivelog mode. The archive log directory keeps filling up. Since it is
development, I do not need to keep the archive logs. They are already
backed up on the production database. How do I get the dataguard database
to stop archiving?
