    How true and how long has Oracle been telling us to stop using them?
Course it would help is they took their own medicine.

The reasons mentioned are all very good reasons for converting LONG
to LOB if at all possible.

I've run into the same problems in impdp, as well as dbms_redefinition.

LONGs are the ugly stepchild of the database.
