RE: DBA classes in NYC?

He's now asking if anyone knows whether new DBAs just out of training are
being hired for junior DBA positions or if even the junior positions require
experience these days.

I have no current information on this so hopefully one of you knows what the
market is like (we're going to be having massive layoffs in 6 months which
is his reason for considering a career shift).

A co-worker is interested in moving from development work to DBA work.  I
had suggested the Columbia CTA program but apparently that no longer exists.

Can anyone recommend classes in NYC other than the Oracle-provided classes?
