Michael,

I think rather than get too involved with moving the data, I would simply
phase in the new repository on a certain date.  Keep the old repository
around - do not delete the database from the old repos. until you have a
couple of cycles of backups in the new repos.

You can always use the old repos. to perform a recovery if needed.

We have a need to move about 5-10 databases from one RMAN repository to
