We are on Linux 5.6 and our hardware is getting replaced because it is old and the plan was to get Linux 6.x on this boxes which was ok but when we initially checked the certification matrix, we thought we had to alteast upgrade to 11.2.0.3 or 11.2.0.4 if we were to use Linux 6.

Certification Information for Oracle Database on Linux x86-64 (Doc ID 1304727.1) seems to confirm that
for OEL/RHEL 6.x you need at least 11.2.0.3.
