Kevin

Sorry I access the List after more than a week as I was out for vacation. I
had opened the TAR but mothing comes out for almost a week. Oracle RAC group
opened the TAR for Unix Group as they say that /etc/init.cssd run command is
working while Linux group says that until /etc/init.cssd start will not work,
they cannot do anything. Finally I had taken the database backup and moved it
to Filesystem. Original purpose of creating the ASM database is to work on RMAN
backup and procedure as Production plaform is going for RAC using ASM.

It is not the first time that Oracle failed to provide the support on time.
the interesting part is that if

I use /etc/init.cssd run as Forefround process, it is working but if I am
using /etc/init.cssd run & - it is not working

  /etc/init.cssd start is not working

Another important thing was ocssd daemon continue to be available even I pass
^C to the window where I ran /etc/init.cssd as foreground process

Another thing was that if I stop the daemon using /etc/init.cssd stop, then
after that /etc/init.cssd run will stop working and will only start working if
I bounce the database.

I tried several time $OH/bin/localconfig rest OH_Path, but it didn;t worked.

  Tx
  Sanjay
