It works fine for us, but we did hit one bug earlier this month: Bug
5181800. The standby server got hung for other reasons and basically
stopped responding, and the LNS process on the primary caused
controlfile enqueue problems that eventually crashed the primary. We
had to defer logging to that standby until it was back up.
FYI. Metalnik says it's fixed on 10.2.0.3 and 11g. One-off patch
available for 10.2.0.2 (which we were on at the time).
