RE: Anyone with experience with MMOG and databases?

Hi Mike

Yes aware of the other MMOG systems.  I would love to touch base with
some of their DBAs.

If you do some reading , you will find out that they went thru a lot of
pain and blood developing these systems in the last 3-5 years.  Lots of
crashes, down time , loss data , user frustrations, difficulty with the
billing system etc.

Most of them have addressed these issues now and the majority of them
are using Oracle RAC with cheaper H/W option.  I would like to learn
from their mistakes and avoid it if possible and maybe take a
different approach ala non RAC.  Willing to discuss this offline.
