Dear all,

thanks a lot for all your replies. I was quite surprised to see so many implementations (presumably the majority is on the Linux/Solaris combo). I also fully agree that 11.1 should have been 10g R3, whereas 11.2 truly differs from the previous releases.

The plan here is to go live with 11.2 possibly in May on a 3 node RAC system on Linux. I am mainly after the grid infrastructure/ASM improvements alongside the incremental stats gathering for partitioned tables. The database is approx 2TB in size, but the cluster will most likely be used for additional systems in the future so instance caging will also be useful :)

Regards,

Martin
