Markus,
Check what the actual parameter is in the database to determine where
to look for the problem.
Select VALUE from V$PARAMETER where NAME = 'user_dump_dest';
This will show you where the database will direct the dump location.

I've got the following paramter set in the database

SQL> show parameter user_dump_NAME TYPE =
VALUE------------------------------------ -----------
-----------------=
-------------user_dump_dest string /app/oracle/a=
dmin/fusepw03/udump But it's writing the trace files to
ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/l=
og Any ideas as to why this is the case. TIA BTW Am also using a
spfile. =
