The permissions on the link appear to be correct. How about the device that
is pointed to?

Trying to create a NEW diskgroup in ASM.
OS: SunOS 5.8 Generic_117350-49 sun4u sparc SUNW,Sun-Fire
ORACLE: SQL*Plus: Release 10.2.0.2.0
