        There does exist an Oracle Clustered File System as well, and I
suppose it would be counterproductive to duplicate those features in ASM
itself.

...not much help if you are on AIX,HP-UX,Solaris (nearly 50% of all
Oracle DB revenue and Windows
is 25+%).
