9.0.4 does not need a static IP and is certified against Red Hat Enterprise
Linux 2.1 and 3. It's not certified against 7.1
<conjecture>
The 9.0.4 installer probably won't run on 7.1 as they've added in some
checks at the start of installation (platform, patch level, resource etc.).
9.0.3 or earlier is not as fussy and I suspect will work well enough for
personal use. You could assign your machine a dummy static IP for the
install and then listen on Name based Virtual Hosts to get around the
dynamic IP.
</conjecture>

Subject: 9iAS on redhat linux
I want to start playing around with this. I have Redhat 7.1 sitting at home.
Can I run 9iAS on this(I dont know anything about 9iAS yet).
Or do I have to get another version? Is there a cheap or free version? This
is not for work.
also, I have a cable modem and I do not have a static ip. do I need a static
IP to run 9iAS? anyway to simulate one if so?
