We're running a standby on oracle 8. Monitoring is done using script files that connect to the standby, query the v$ views and return a status to EM. I’m trying to determine a way to monitor the status of the standby – archive gaps, recovering or not, etc. I think I’m going to have to write some host based scripts to do this which is a huge PITA since this is on windows. Google is not being much help this morning. (Fyi – 8i database is for a legacy app that is in maintenance mode only) Thanks, *Chris Taylor* *Sr. Oracle DBA* Ingram Barge Company Nashville, TN 37205 Office: 615-517-3355 Cell: 615-354-4799 Email: chris.taylor@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx *CONFIDENTIALITY NOTICE**: This e-mail and any attachments are confidential and may also be privileged.
