The best advice you can get for this goes something like this:
* document what you need to do
* practice the conversion on an environment that looks like production
* modify your documentation so that expections now match reality
* practice again with the modified documentation
* be sure to document who does what, and when. SA's may need to take
care of some things during conversion, etc.
* document what other systems will be affected, and how to remediate.
replication sites, etc.
* ensure that your documentation includes checklists. It can be difficult to
determine if you really completed the previous 2 steps before continuing.
* practice it until you can do it in your sleep, cuz you just might be.
( late nights and long weekends )
Just converting a databae from 81 to 9i is fairly straightforward. It's all
the other stuff that takes time and effort.
