Prior to running catupgrd, you will need to run utlirp. Then when you run
the catupgrd, then shutdown, startup normal, utlrp.sql

Also look at the parameters in your spfile. Some will be deprecated. There
is a script you can run after installing the 10g binaries to give you some
guidelines. I don't know what it is off the top of my head, or you can run
dbua.
