i've never seen that error, but the ORACLE_INSTANCE _looks_ like it needs to be
set to ORACLE_HOME/opmn.
So, you could try that. But this is where my help goes into the realm of
guessing. Maybe someone else has better information for you.

I get the following messages:
oracle@dbarh5:DBALTEST>opmnctl startall
opmnctl: ORACLE_INSTANCE is not set.
opmnctl startall requires that ORACLE_INSTANCE be correctly setin your
environment.
Make sure you are using ORACLE_INSTANCE/bin/opmnctl, or setORACLE_INSTANCE
in your environment.
I don’t know what ORACLE_INSTANCE is supposed to be set to.

Subject: 11g Grid Control Configuration Issue
I’ve finally got 11g Grid Control installed on a RedHat system (I couldn’t
get it to install on Solaris). I had it up andrunning and somehow within a
couple of hours messed it up. Now the OMSwill not start. I get the following
output from emctl:
oracle@dbarh5:DBALTEST>./emctl start oms

Oracle Management Server is not functioning because of thefollowing reason:
Oracle Management Server version is not compatible with repositoryversion.
Repository needs to be Upgraded.
I can’t find anything on how to get the versions back in sync (orhow I got them
out of sync). Where do I need to go to get thisstraightened out?
