RE: 11g Archive Logs?

Sorry, let me clarify...

10g (in WIN, sorry don't have a 10g UNIX setup at the moment):

SQL> show parameter log_archive_dest

NAME TYPE VALUE

------------------------------------ -----------------

log_archive_dest string

log_archive_dest_1 string

log_archive_dest_10 string

log_archive_dest_2 string

log_archive_dest_3 string

log_archive_dest_4 string

log_archive_dest_5 string

log_archive_dest_6 string

log_archive_dest_7 string

log_archive_dest_8 string

log_archive_dest_9 string

SQL> show parameter recover

NAME TYPE VALUE

------------------------------------ -----------

db_recovery_file_dest string c:\oracle\rob10gr2_backup

db_recovery_file_dest_size big integer 2G

SQL> select dest_name, destination from

v$archive_dest;

DEST_NAME DESTINATION

-------------------- -------------------------

LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_1

LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_2

LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_3

LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_4

LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_5

LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_6

LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_7

LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_8

LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_9

LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_10 USE_DB_RECOVERY_FILE_DEST

-- Look at pertenant directories

-- flash recovery area, has an archived redo log (just did a log switch).

Directory of C:\oracle\rob10gr2_backup\ROB10GR2\ARCHIVELOG\2007_08_18

08/18/2007 08:09 PM <DIR> .

08/18/2007 08:09 PM <DIR> ..

db_recovery_file_dest string /oracle01/flash_recovery_area

db_recovery_file_dest_size big integer 2G

--

select dest_name, destination from v$archive_dest;

DEST_NAME DESTINATION

------------------------------

LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_2

LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_3

LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_4

LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_5

LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_6

LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_7

LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_8

LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_9

LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_10 USE_DB_RECOVERY_FILE_DEST

  Hi Robert

By default if we dont specify log_archive_dest the archved logs goes to
$ORACLE_HOME/dbs, is that what you mean?

  Thanks

Any of you fine people install 11g yet and find that your new 11g
database
was creating archived redo logs in $ORACLE_HOME/dbs?? I've got a
database
that I created with the DBCA that is doing just that, and I'll be darned
if
    I can figure out why.
