Sorry if this is duplicate information, but i have not been keeping up
with the thread. If you look at tar# 622704.999 someone had a similiar problem
upgrading 8i (I know you are working on 10G, but the problems look similiar
enough). the fix was to put local_listener in the init.ora.

As far as I can tell, tnsnames and listener are correct, the listener
reports +ASM as a service. Sqlnet.ora only has

Then, test the TNS descriptor locally (Make the files ~/.sqlnet.ora=3D20

then you can put in the parameter local_listener. If you have domain
(NAMES.DEFAULT_DOMAIN ) in sqlnet.ora , then it must be a part of the
tnsnames.ora descriptor name, or the things will not work. Welcome =
