And all I can say is that Dan didn't read the manuals thoroughly enough! :=

Has already paid for itself!

Once again, Robert Freeman has done an excellent job on a New
Features book. I really like the "Jonathan Says" tidbits by
Jonathan Lewis.

I've read the official 10g new features doc from Oracle in
preparation for creating a 10g database destined for production.
Interesting items, like a system-level default tablespace and
SYSAUX. I admit I just skimmed it, but I did not see any big
'gotchas'...until I read Robert's book.

Did you know that the database is created with 2 already
scheduled jobs? 1 of them automatically gathers statistics for
you. Talk about a potential minefield! Perhaps Robert should
rename his book "Oracle 10g - Now You Won't Go BOOM!"
