RE: year end payroll patches

As Governments produce new legislation especially around Income tax and
earnings (which has a direct effect on payroll), we may need new
functionality with respect to this legislation. Usually the new
legislation comes into effect at the start of a new tax/financial year.
FYI in the UK it's usually 5th April..

Anybody aware why we will have year end pay roll patches every (may be
a quarter patches). functionlally what do they do.

 

i got the message below from my client to apply them. not sure what do
they mean exactly.

 

2007 US Payroll Year End Phase 2 incl 4Q 07 & Year Begin 2008 Patch
6281324 CONSOLIDATED EXTERNAL BUGS PATCH FOR AUGUST 2007 Vertex Payroll
Tax Q Series.

 

can some one help me interpreting.
