RE: R12 iRec port 443 Apache starting problem

If you want to run on Port 443, then root has to start the apache.

Any port less than 1024 has to be started by root.

Hello friends,
 
Required help fo configuring with port 443. With this port number , i am not 
able to start Apache . R12.0.4  on RHL 4 and DB on AIX 5.3L
 
getting error "make_sock: permission denied cannot bind for port 443".
 
We have checked all the possible solutions
 
1. changing the sticky bit for .apachectl
2. change owner to root 
 
 we have done all the possible hits from metalink.
 
Customer wants to use port 443 for Apache not the default one 4443.
 
Please suggest your experience resolving such issue
