RE: JD EDWARDS to 11i Conversion

Thanks Luis, Probably manual loading is a good choice as we are not
expecting huge data loads.

Thanks

Sridhar

Sridhar,

If you are brave enough, you could use Oracle Enterprise Service Bus
to read the data from JD Edwards and load it into Oracle. There are
other tools that can do this, for example, Webmethods. But keep in mind
that these tools are intended for integration, and not for a conversion
job.

A more conservative way would be to manually create load processes for
each type of business object, e.g. invoices, suppliers, account
balances, purchase orders, etc, dumping the data from JD Edwards into
text files, xml files or tables, and loading the data into the Oracle
open interfaces. This would probably be a several months project, unless
the customer is really small.

If you dont want to use the text files, you could access the JD
Edwards database indirectly using a Oracle Transparent Gateway
(Expensive) or a ODBC driver and the Oracle Gateway for ODBC.

Regards,
Luis

Hi Guys,

I got this unique request to explore into the conversion process from JD
Edwards financial system (AP, AR, GL) into 11.5.10.2. Do you guys know
of any tools from oracle or third party to convert the data? What are
the options that might be available to do this?

Thanks for you help.
