ALL,

Thanks for the input but we are not going to clone using OUI or OEMGC we
prefer a manual clone of DB.

Our requirement is We are planning to install oracle 10g
Release2(10.2.0.1.0) on windows 2003 Advanced server, and we are planning to
clone the exisiting oracle DB from server windows XP Professional with
SP2,32 bit edition(which is a current exisiting production DB) and use the
same in windows 2003 Advanced server.

Install fresh 10gR2 in Windows 2003 and do a manual/clone of the exisiting
DB,please let us know if any additional tasks needs to be performed during
the clone tasks apart from the below listed steps with respect to 10G.

The below is the method/steps which planning to implement.

1.Install fresh 10gR2 on top of Windows 2003 server (only the oracle
software binaries)
2.copy the DB from windows XP to Windows 2003 server
3. Modify/edit the pfile.ora file with location of the Database file -OR-
Copy the pfile from the XP machine and edit accordingly to suite the target
machine
4.create the windows service for the copied DB with DB name in the target
machine.
5.open the database

with regards
Vijay
