Re: GWYUID/GUEST_USER

srinivas,

This is purely speculation, the internals of Oracle Applications are not
publicy available.

GWYUID is used during the logon process. From what I know, when you logon
with a user and a password on forms, it initially connects with this user
(APPLSYSPUB/PUB), then calls some packages using this user to obtain the APPS
password. How this is done is not clear to me, but it involves validating the
application user against FND_USER and then reading the APPS password from
FND_ORACLE_USERID. When you logon through self-service, there is some session
identifier passed to forms that is used to obtain the password too.

The GUEST_USER_PWD is used internally by Oracle Applications whenever it
needs to obtain a logon to the database. This is used by the "ad...ctl.sh"
scripts, Jserv connection pool, and on some other places.

Regards,
Luis
