Thanks!! Great the issue seems to be resolved by the same, actually i tried 
everything in Metalink before taking this up but nothing seemed to 
work(330774.1 ,431501.1,404940.1,397418.1 ,Bug id 6449275(platform Linux), Bug 
id:6611269. And also i forgot to mention this was R12.

Set it to value similar to format  http://hostname.domainname:port 
bounce apache & try accessing it.
