Controlling Rapid growth of Tablespaces

Hi DBAs,

Please I need a clarification for determining the reason of growth of our
database and datafiles in our application 11.5.10.2 , Database 9.2.0.8

Oracle Applications is tottaly upgraded from 11.5.7 to 11.5.10.2

I want to know how to resize these huge tablespace which still grows rapidely.

Tablespaces:
APPLSYSD is 12 GB
APPLSYSX is 11 GB
SYSTEM is 10 GB

I want to know how control this rapid growth, Datafiles now are 139 GB
DB_TOP about 6 GB

AND TEMP tablespace is controlled and not causing this rapid growth of storage.
Also I do all required  Purging frequently for Temp & historical data but the
growth still exist.

The number of tablespaces in database is 413 tablespace for all modules
including separated tablespaces for indexes for each schema
(module) individually.

I want to know how to control and manage all these tablespaces growth and
storage in order to limit this huge growth in the long run, without any loss of
data.

If there is any usefull documents in order to clarify this issue,& to limit
this number of tablespaces. this will be well appreciated.
I want to know how to control this issue?

Thanks alot
Regards,
