Hello DBAs,

I solved the problem of Adadmin & it is normally running now with no errors ,
also adpatch & other ad utilities, according to the notes that James sent me
before that I shouldn't run autoconfig after the changes of fndcpass & I
restored the session of autoconfig & I reached this point.
But the application still don't open & I am doing some trials although all
services are started normally.
My question is when should I run autoconfig again as I restored the session to
before my initial change of apps password.
to update the current parameters correctly of context file.

the errors that lastly appeared at FNDCPASS is for oracle applications users
not Oracle IDs as they are now having one password & no problems with them with
the log ,except for Guest user , it's password couldn't be encrypted, what
should I do with this user ???

select distinct(status) from apps.FND_PRODUCT_INSTALLATIONS;

STATUS
I
N
S
========================
select username, account_status from dba_users where username like 'APP%';

USERNAME       ACCOUNT_STATUS
APPLSYSPUB   OPEN
APPLSYS          OPEN
APPS                OPEN

Installation is fresh for testing.
Application was running normally before my trials to change apps password by
fndcpass.

Thanks

Mustafa,
Try checking the below MOS notes:
Error Migrating Platform adpatch fails with : DCPW null for "APPLSYS" [0] [ID
756706.1]aipspv(): Error Setting Up PDI List for Upgrade [ID 330238.1]

What is the output for the below queries:SQL> select distinct(status) from
apps.FND_PRODUCT_INSTALLATIONS;

SQL> select username, account_status from dba_users where username like 'APP%';

Is this application newly created? or cloned? or migrated to a new
platform?When was the last time the application worked fine?
Too many questions, huh!

When you changed the APPS, APPLSYS, and APPLSYSPUB passwords using FNDCPASS,
did the log file contain these lines?

FNDCPASS was not able to decrypt password for user 'APPS' during applsys
password change.

FNDCPASS was not able to decrypt password for user 'APPLSYS' during applsys
password change.

If so, take a look at:

Changing APPS Password Using Fndcpass Gives 'not able to decrypt password'
Message (Doc ID 733427.1)

Hi,
I just quickly checked the conversation, sorry if that was mentioned already..
What the error message actually says is: your FND oracle user password could
not be decrypted using the apps password. (those passwords are stored encrypted
with APPS password in table fnd_oracle_userid and decrypted when needed).

As you are not actually giving the full sequence of the actions taken There are
some options:
1) either you changed apps or applsys password using "alter user" not FNDCPASS
2) or you changed FND user password using "alter user" not
 FNDCPASS

If you could provide the log file of FNDCPASS command where you changed the
APPS password it should contan list of users where decryption was not possible.
So please provide more info if you expect to get help here.

$IAS_ORACLE_HOME/Apache/modplsql/cfg/

$ORACLE_HOME/8.0.6/reports60/server/CGIcmd.dat

Was this your sequence:
1) checked accounts
2) Ran FNDCPASS
3) Ran adadmin

or was this your sequence

1) Ran FNDCPASS
2) Ran autoconfig
3) checked apps and applsys by running sqlplus /nolog
3a) connect apps/new_apps_password
3b) connect applsys/new_apps_password
4) ran adadmin
5) attempted to change back by running, FNDCPASS apps/new_apps_password 0 Y
system/system_password SYSTEM APPLSYS old_apps_password
6) ran autoconfig
7) ran adadmin and it still did not work.

I logged in successfully by these users & accounts are not locked.
Then I used FNDCPASS to change apps password but couldn't be reset & adadmin
still don't work.
Also I don't have a backup from table FND_USERS, I just took backup of table
fnd_oracle_userid  , Do you think that decryption of passwords is corrupted ??

Please do you have any solutions ?
Thanks a lot

Hi Mostafa,

Please restore the database or atleast the FND user tables if you have it from
the backup and do the FNDCPASS again and run autoconfig and see...
