So everyone is aware,
Yes it is true that the Canon CF-60UVi 60 Degree camera has been
discontinued , but parts are still available till July 2012.
If anyone is in need of a 60 Degree camera - we still have the newer
model CF-60DSi available.
We also introduced the newest CX-1 Myd/ Non Myd Fundus camera earlier this
year - that offers Color, Red free , Cobalt Blue , FA and FAF with swing
and tilt.
You can do FA and FAF in Non Myd mode as well. 50 Degree
Hope it helps.

Tom,
With regards to the separate OCT for glaucoma, we are running beta
software for the Spectralis and it had some new features for glaucoma, We
are a retinal group so we don't use them but it's only a matter of
upgrading the software. I love our Spectralis and wouldn't trade it for
the world we got the Cirrus when it first came out and I was blown away by
it but then we got the fourth Spectralis in the country when it came out
and it set a new standard for me. I love the tracking software. We are
participating in a clinical trial that requires the use of the Cirrus and
I cannot tell you how many times the reading center has asked for retakes
because of an almost unperceivable eye movements that they say mess up the
algorithm. One would not have that with the Spectralis secondarily to the
tracking software. With regards to high astigmats, either we don't have a
problem or we don't have any :-).

We still have a Canon 60UVI we upgraded our OIS Winstation so we could
interface with OIS Symphony to install Epic HER. Then Epic made a strong
suggestion to upgrade Symphony to Symphony Web, well worth it. So we will
have a 13 year old Canon, OIS WinStation going, with all the other imaging
tools into Symphony Web. The Canon has been discontinued for 5 years so
Canon is no longer supplying parts, but the optics on this camera are so
good, don?t think it will make 30 like some of the FFs out there.
Replacement ?Zeiss 450II? We are using a Stratus OCT.
The Spectralis cost last I heard $160K is the concern and you would have
to have a standalone OCT for glaucoma. The Spectralis also had problems
with my test eye (my own right eye) -8 with astigmatism, the Stratus
handles it well, I sat in front of a Spectralis for ½ hour with no success
and plenty of artificial tears.

We have these instruments as well. The programming with the camera is not
as user friendly as the Topcon with MRP's Ophthavision we had but the
optics are wonderful. The Zeiss Cirrus has done a great job. We went
with these over Spectralis because of costs and the Spectralis was an all
in one machine. We needed to have the OCT separate from the F/FA. Also
the learning curve with it was more steep than with the Zeiss Cirrus.
