Putting a firewire card into a tower PC is about one of the easiest things
to do.
Newer laptops have firewire ports but if not it would need to have a slot
for a PCMCIA Firewire card.

PCMCIA are the bigs slots on the side that can accommodate Compact Flash
Format cards. These are going away on newer machines coz FW etc is often
included on the motherboard.
