[opendtv] Re: Zenith box at Radio Shack

Government program? Meredith Atwell Baker who is responsible for the
technical and coupon side of the conversion at the NTIA said on C-Span
2/16/08 that we are doing GREAT!!

All 15 Government departments are on board.

The Veterans Department, the Agricultural Department etc.

Ketchum is on board with Passion and Precision; what could go wrong.

They are using bar codes.

They have list of converter boxes. Consumers like RED so they have ATM like
gift cards in RED with a hologram, that is the coupon. With numbers to call
with 150 languages.

250 retailers participating, brick and mortar and on-line. Radio Shack, Wall
Mart, Circuit City, Best Buy among others have trained employees and product
on the shelves.

Congress gave them the specifications which unfortunately didn't allow for
NTSC pass thru but they will fix that sometime after the 90 day wonder
coupons run out.

They are going to educate the public, the elderly and have meals on wheels
help them install the device (and the antenna???).

It is a ONE PAGE installation guide. It is SUPER SIMPLE, they are making it
as easy as possible!!!!

They got it covered in REALITY for real constituents.

Finally a government program designed for success!!

John Kneuer saw the wall coming and jumped off the train. Good luck
Meredith.
