[opendtv] Re: White paper from CEA

Let me be clear.  I never meant to imply that Nat Ostroff remarked that =
he
felt ATSC was, now with 5g receivers, better than COFDM.  My sense from =
his
remarks is that he felt ATSC had now been proven to be ADEQUATE to the =
point
that the issue of going back to square one was a dead horse.

How did 8VSB become so dominant within the ATS Committee?  Especially if
COFDM was such a panacea, such a no-brainer?  Was it simply a collective
pig-headed refusal to do a re-think and risk scrapping a lot of hard =
work
already done?  Who had a big vested interest in 8VSB that early on?
