GMs)and the last spot sold in a quarter probably goes directly to their
bonus.  Engineers care most about quality; GMs care most about sales.

No doubt about that!  However I have noticed the stations with the higher
ratings usually have better control over commercial loudness.  It's kind of
a conundrum.  Balancing pleasing the ad agencies vs driving away viewers.

One of the fist things I was told on my first job in Radio was to never
confuse my personal taste with what works in Radio!!
