Like any other legacy situation, it's unlikely that VHS will be
completely dead for decades. Ditto with NTSC, which will probably be
used as a local interconnect for some time to come.

My wife also has a huge collection of VHS tapes. I figure, DVD players
that also incorporate a VHS player will probably be built for some time
still.
