Crisper?  Brighter?  Clearer around the edges??

Although I'm not discounting this verdict, these are interesting  
metrics they used.  If the connection to the display was analog, then  
the reason for these "improvements" might have absolutely nothing to  
do with the bitrate and everything to do with the quality and  
accuracy of the DACs and analog output section of the set-top box.

Of course, satellite could up the bitrate and match the "IPTV"  
quality, but as we've seen from recent articles, people are having a  
hard enough time "getting" HDTV in the first place...nevermind  
comparing 2 HD signals to determine which is "crisper, brighter, and  
clearer around the edges"!
