Hans I have seen your work reported elsewhere in the IEEE Transactions on Broadcasting and the SMPTE Journal. However, I notice in these slides that 1080p appears to rate higher or, the same as, 720p on the PDP while on the LCD it is consistently lower, about 5 points, for bitrates above 8 Mbits/s. For 8 and 6 Mbits/s the PDP and LCD seem to be about the same. Is there a reason for this? Terry Terence J. That's half-way to the cliff so if you look at bit errors or eye patterns you can probably go double that. And with the best Gennum chips, probably farther still.
