Very good point. And the channels affected can be more than just the
obvious one, i.e. N +/- 1, as the FCC tests showed. There are other
channels that are just as vulnerable as the +/- 1, or even more so. Not
to mention the Charles Rhodes IM3 distortion findings.

The FCC just issued this order on warnings broadcasters have to air
before they shut off analog:

They are adding information on the required receive antennas, for
example, if a station moves from VHF to UHF. But my impression is that
all these well-intentioned warning requirements always end up being too
simplistic. It would sure be nice if there were some more
market-specific warnings or suggestions, in cases such as what Kilroy
has found for Seattle.

Also, as our local documents person discovered, not all new receivers
are equal. In fact, her new built-in Sony receiver is considerably
better than her new CECB.
