Thanks, Dale, but I didn't get the full "contrast" here.
The number 20 dB assumes a min level of 1 watt, which of
course is far higher than what the amp can really
provide as its softest clean sounds.

A good hifi amp is good for about 100 dB of dynamic
range. So 100 =3D 10*log(100 / x), where x is the minimum
power level. Below that, it would be just noise.

So the min power is more like 0.01 uW, not 1 W.
