Any HDTV DVD format that does not output HD to all current
HD displays is a dead letter, commercially.
That's not to say it has to outout DIGITAL HD, component would be fine.
My TV has only component ... digital did not exist when I bought it ...
and I certainly will not buy an HD-DVD player if it does not have
HD component output. Of course, I watch so few DVDs (i.e. zero) that it
does not matter.
