The NASA report is a combination of NASA and NOAA's gathering of data from

I do have some knowledge of NOAA's current capabilities, which are
extensive.

I did not say anything about sparsity. I said that some of the data is suspect because a large number of monitoring stations are improperly located based on the location standards set by the agency that monitors them.

Here is a site that describes some of the problems...

<"not supported" is passive voice".> How is this important?

Again, we ignore the primary subject of this thread, which is a newly
introduced and seemingly more powerful source green house gas. Global
climate change (currently warming) is a fact and is supported by Craig's
posting. However we do not know exactly why temperatures have risen so
sharply in the past 30 years and each new piece of evidence is helpful in
the analysis.

My posting DOES NOT support the notion that we are still warming. It DOES support the fact that we have now entered a period of reduced solar activity, reduced ocean temperatures, and increasing ice caps and growth of glaciers.

There are a number of reasons for the warming of the past 30 years, not the least of which is the historical cycles that Easterbrook documented in the paper I cited. There is STRONG correlation of the peak in 1997 and solar activity.

As for the new NF3 problem, I believe that this is an issue that should be addressed, just as we did with Freon several decades ago. It is not clear whether the concentrations are significant enough to contribute to global warming, however, this is a relatively easy issue to address as it is directly related to the manufacturing process for flat screen TVs and guess what else?

Solar Panels

I have no problem dealing with environmental abuses that can be documents and corrected - i still remember rivers in Alabama running in multi colors as mills dumped their used dyes into the rivers. And I remember the Chicago River catching on fire when i was a younger man.

let's focus on what we know and can do something about, not theories that are based on politically motivated (and paid for) computer models that have already been proven to be wrong.

Craig
